Daniela Pfefferkorn and Florian Werner

Tradition and innovation, luxury combined with a homely atmosphere have always been the secret of the success of the families Werner & Pfefferkorn, founders of the renowned hotels & restaurants. The younger generation has preserved these traditions only to extend the repertoire by founding the "Hospiz Hotels & Restaurants" company. Florian Werner: "our aim is to see our guests happy and satisfied, to fulfil their wishes for recreation, sport, fun and business, to offer them top quality and hospitality. To achieve our goal we are constantly on the move, adapting the latest equipment and technology. We are constantly changing, but maintain the traditional values."

The Pfefferkorn Family at the Hotel Goldener Berg

Gucky (née Schwarz) and Franz Pfefferkorn met and fell in love in 1965 at the College of Hotel Management in Bad Hofgastein. They married in 1967 and took over the Goldener Berg in Oberlech. Johann Pfefferkorn, Franz's father and owner of the Sporthaus and Pfefferkorn Supermarket in Lech, had bought the property in 1965 from the German Alex Hammerbacher who was facing financial difficulties. The Pfefferkorns have three daughters: Claudia, Daniela and Tina. Daniela Pfefferkorn has worked for her parents' company since 1991 and, in the winter of 2000 she took over the management of the Goldener Berg.

The Werner Family at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel

Gerda and Adolf Werner met and fell in love in 1959 while studying at the College of Hotel Management in Lausanne and, when they married in 1964, took over the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel. Arnold Ganahl, Gerda?s father and owner of the Ganahl Spinning Factories, had bought the old property in 1955 and, when it was completely destroyed by a fire in 1956, rebuilt it as a five-star hotel on the Arlberg. Gerda and Adolf Werner have two sons: Christoph and Florian. Florian Werner took over the management of the Hospiz Hotel from his father in 1997.
