Sport & Leisure Winter
Things worth knowing about the Arlberg
To describe the Arlberg simply as a skiing area would be a grave injustice. The region on the border of the federal states of Vorarlberg and Tyrol is nothing less than legendary. With 85 railways and ski lifts, you can enjoy 260 km of prepared pistes and 180 km of deep snow and firn runs, as well as snowboard funparks.
Allow yourself to be enchanted by the mountain peaks and the sheer vastness of it all. We will happily organise ski instructors for you who will accompany you on your conquest of the Arlberg. On the Rendl and on the Weibermahd lift, amateur racers can check how fast they are on skis. Electronic display boards on the pistes show the speed and there are also racing runs with automatic time measurement on all sites.
Running
Don't forget your trainers! A wonderful 7 km course leads into the peaceful Verwalltal valley and back. There are broad tracks to explore from St. Anton, and you can also run from Lech to Zug at any time of the year! Running maps are available at the hotel.
Ski Race
We are also happy to work with the Arlberg ski school to organize a final race
for all skiers and snowboarders.
Tobogganing
High-speed pleasure on the now floodlit, over 4 km-long run from the Gampen
plateau as far as the St. Anton valley, which lasts around 10-15 minutes and
covers over 500 metres in altitude.
Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides
Enjoy the wonderful winter scenery of the Arlberg from a horse-drawn sleigh.
Cosy Alpine Hut Atmosphere with Sleigh Ride to Lech
How about a relaxed evening in the Alter Goldener Berg in Oberlech? You take a cable car from Lech to Oberlech and plod through the snow for about 10 minutes. We then welcome you with some home-made punch, torchlight and fire barrels in front of the Alter Goldener Berg, after which there are fine fondue dishes to be enjoyed in the 500-year-old dining room. However be sure not to miss the high-speed enjoyment after your meal. The bobsleigh run is illuminated for you until 10 pm. Bobsleighs can be hired for € 20.00 from Bergbahn Oberlech, of which € 16.00 is a deposit, returned when you bring back your bobsleigh.
Cross Country Skiing
St. Anton has almost 50 kilometres of prepared cross-country tracks and there
are places to stop off on (almost) all of them. You can hire boots, skis and
poles from Intersport Arlberg. Cross-country skiers can enjoy some excellent
sport on the 15 km trails through the idyllic and almost untouched Zugertal
valley from Lech. Cross-country skiers have the choice between the 21-kilometre
trail in Lech and the 4 km of prepared trails in St. Christoph and Zürs
respectively.
Snow Shoe Tours
Explore the winter forest on Alaskan snowshoes. During the tour, you will learn
the proper technique for walking on snow shoes.
Paragliding Tandem Flights
If you really want to take off but do not have the necessary experience, you can
arrange to be accompanied by a competent pilot on a tandem jump.
Moonlight Hike
Take a moonlight hike after your evening meal and let us carry you off to the Galzig and
the Kriegerhorn by the light of the full moon!
Heliskiing
Heliskiing continues to be on special offer in Lech. Ask about it. It's worth
it!
Games with the Wind
Introduction to paragliding! Experience the feeling of being carried by the wind
and getting positive support from the group. You can experience this when you go
up in a small group accompanied by a pilot. Then you take control and enjoy the
feeling of being at one with nature.
